2022 Bingdao - Bawai

“Bingdao Five Villages Core · Bawai”

Sourced from the eastern peak of the Bingdao region, Mengku Town, Lincang, Yunnan, at an altitude of 1820 meters, nestled in a pristine forest shrouded in mist year-round. The area has a 15°C diurnal temperature difference, where ancient tea trees coexist with century-old pines and firs.

“Weathered Rocky Soil · Mineral Essence”

The tea garden sits on steep rocky slopes, with over 60% weathered rocky soil. The deep-rooted ancient tea trees draw rich minerals from the rocks, infusing the tea liquor with a unique rocky wild charm.

“Native Ancient Tree Community”

Harvested from 300+ year-old arbor-type ancient tea trees on sun-facing slopes of Bawai Old Village, far from human pollution.

Prime Location:
Bawai Old Village sits at the highest eastern point of Bingdao Five Villages, with abundant sunlight and diffused light, creating a perfect polyphenol-to-amino acid ratio.

Rock Rhyme Code:
Weathered rocky soil is rich in zinc, selenium, and other minerals, giving the tea liquor a distinctive “cool rocky charm” with a sweet yet brisk undertone.

Ecological Shield:
The ancient tea garden is surrounded on three sides by primeval forests, with year-round air humidity ≥ 80%, ensuring exceptionally tender leaves.

The drought in Mengku during 2022 concentrated the inner substances, making the tea sweet and full-bodied for current drinking while offering great aging potential.
